Staying at the Voila Bagette Hotel in Mauritius from 22 Feb to 25 Feb 2016 for a speaking event. I’m pleased to share my experience with one individual named Ally who is originally from Botswana. His passion to serve and go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of his customers is refreshing. He took care of our team from the early hours of the day until we finished. Yesterday we finished at 11pm and Ally still served graciously. Always cheerful and teaching as the local lingo. So I asked him how he remains so upbeat and cheerful. His answer was “I treat this hotel as if it’s my own. It’s my home. I spend most of my time here. If my customers are not happy then I’m not happy. I don’t try to be happy and cheerful, seeing you guys doing your thing and knowing that I can assit in that makes me happy”.
What a lesson! Just be happy.
